what will affect Fabric Shrinkage?

Shrinkage is a parameter of testing textile fabrics to measure changes in length and width after washing, shrinkage failing materials are dimensionally unstable and they can cause de shaping and deforming of the garments or products made out of those materials, it is tested at various stages but important is to before cutting the fabric into further sewn products and after cutting and sewing prior to supplying the products to buyers and end users.      The moisture absorption of fiber is the direct factor of fabric shrinkage. The tightness of yarn and fabric structure is the indirect factor of shrinkage. The tighter the structure, the expansion of the fiber cause the yarn to swell, then the warp height of the yarn in the fabric increases and the length of the yarn in the buckling state becomes shorter, so the fabric shrinks. Therefore, the higher twist and volume fraction of the yarn, the greater shrinkage of the fabric.    The processing tension of the fabric also has an effe

How To Proceed The Abrasion Testing ?

Taber abrasion testing machine mainly through the rotation of the grinding method, the use of different types of friction wheel on the sample rotation to detect leather and plastic materials such as wear resistance. Wear test machine a lot of types, such as Martindale wear-resistant instrument, oscillatory wear-resistant instrument, Xiao Boer wear-resistant instrument, universal wear tester, Taber wear test machine , etc., the following Taber wear test machine, Describe the use of wear testing machine and common faults. Test preparation:     -The test object is fixed on the test turntable, select the required test weight loaded;     -Ensure that the test wheel does not come into contact with the sample fixture during the test;     -Adjust the governor switch to a minimum;     -After setting the number of tests according to the test requirements, the machine is in the test state. Operational specifications:    - Connect the appropriate power supply 220V or 110V.    -Adj

How To Process The Elmendorf Tear Strength Test

The Elmendorf tear tester has been developed specially for the paper industry and is outstanding for simplicity of operation and high measurement accuracy. The exchangeable pendulum is equipped with a pneumatic sample clamp. The initiation and return of the pendulum, as well as sample cutting is completely automatic. The device is operated via an integrated touch screen, where the test method can be selected, specific settings can be adjusted, and, after the measurement, results and statistics can be  displayed. Each pendulum is supplied with the appropriate control weight so that, with the help of the service program, it can easily be checked for functionality and balance. The Elmendorf tear test Procedure:     Cotton fabric was taken.     Warp and weft direction of the fabric was identified.     Two strips were cut from the fabric in both directions having dimensions of 100 x 63.5 mm.     The sample was then fixed in the jaws of the tearing tester.     A cut of 20mm was made

The sectors in dry cleaning

Dry cleaning is any cleaning process for clothing and textiles using a chemical solvent other than water. The dry cleaning industry can be divided into 3 sectors:coin-operated facilities, commercial operations, and industrial cleaners.   Coin-operated facilities are usually part of a laundry supplying "self-service" dry cleaning for consumers. Only synthetic solvents are used in coin operated dry cleaning machines.Such machines are small, with a capacity of 3.6 to 11.5 kg (8 to 25 lb) of clothing. Commercial operations, such as small neighborhood or franchise dry cleaning shops, clean soiled apparel for the consumer.   Generally, perchloroethylene and petroleum solvents are used in commercial operations.A typical "perc" plant operates a 14 to 27 kg (30 to 60 lb) capacity washer/extractor and an equivalent size reclaiming dryer. Industrial cleaners are larger dry cleaning plants which supply rental service of uniforms, mats, mops, etc., to businesses or indu

what is the Working Principle of fogging tester?

Fogging Test Chamber   is the best tool to determine the fogging characteristics of automotive or other vehicle interior materials. The fogging tester is applicable for gravimetric method, photometric method and haze measurement method. Working Principle: The main frame of the Fogging tester includes a water sink fully filled with specified ethylene glycol, which can reach a high temperature. At the time of testing, leather specimens are put in the six standard glass containers filled with  high temperature liquid, and the stainless steel containers are placed above each glass. Relying on the constant water flow distribution, the temperature can maintain at 20℃ constantly, and it can be adjusted through the regulation device connected to the main frame. This controlled environment condition will generate a layer of “fog” on the surface of specimens. The operator can determine the fogging characteristics of materials based on gravimetric analysis method or refraction method.

Colour Fastness to dyeing textiles

Color fastness is that the ability to keep original dye color under the influence of other kinds of external factors in the use processes of dyeing textiles. Or we can define color fastness like this: Color fastness refers to the resistance of color to fade or bleed of a dyed or printed textile materials to various types of influences e.g. water, light, rubbing, washing, perspiration etc. It is an important indicator to measure the quality of dyeing products. Due to the use of chemicals in the late processes of dyeing and finishing, like acid, alkali, oxidants, reductants, etc., and when using in washing, sunlight, rubbing, sweat, high temperature and so on, dyeing textiles may fade or discolor. Therefore, dye color fastness is diverse, including washing fastness, light fastness, rubbing fastness, perspiration fastness, chlorine fastness, ironing fastness, etc. The color fastness requirement of textiles is different because of their different use and process. For example, the curt
